Wolves v Leeds United Match Preview

Live coverage on BT Sport 1 at 8pm, Friday 19th February 2021

  • Leeds United’s last seven away games have each involved over 2.5 goals
  • Leeds have scored two or more goals in all-but-one of their last six Premier League matches
  • Eight of Wolves’ twelve home games have seen both sides find the back of the net

Leeds United have been very much amongst the goals this season and their 4-2 defeat to Arsenal last week continued that trend. Manager Marcelo Bielsa is hardly going to change his style of play and this has resulted in his men being thumped consistently by the big teams in the Premier League, especially away from Elland Road. Nevertheless when facing teams of a similar level or below, Bielsa’s approach has worked in his side’s favour on their travels and this could reap dividends at Molineux tonight.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been far from their best this season although confidence will have been boosted by their recent form which has seen them win two of their last three Premier League games. These two wins each came with a 2-1 scoreline and given that the side have managed just six clean sheets since the start of the season, we envisage Leeds finding a way through with relative ease this evening.

Wolves haven’t really been associated with goals this term but Leeds United are playing a very expansive style under Marcelo Bielsa and this in itself tends to result in a hefty scoreline. Odds of 10/11 on Over 2.5 goals in this match look pretty generous and it’s extremely rare that you’ll get these sort of prices for ‘Overs’ in a Leeds United match.
