Wales v Estonia Match Preview & Best Odds

Kick-off: 7:45pm, Wednesday 8th September 2021

  • Wales have found the net in each of their three World Cup qualifiers
  • Wales currently sit third in Group E with two games-in-hand over the sides above them
  • Estonia sit pointless at the foot of Group E

On paper, Wales should have the measure of Estonia in Cardiff on Wednesday evening but the visitors will doubtless be a danger for Robert Page’s men.

Wales grabbed all three points in a hugely important meeting with Belarus last weekend and they now sit just a single point behind second-placed Czech Republic with two games-in-hand. Midweek opponents Estonia remain pointless at the foot of the Group E table having fallen to a third successive qualifying defeat against Belgium (2-5) and having followed this with a 1-0 defeat at home to Northern Ireland in an international friendly on Sunday, we don’t fancy the visitors’ chances on Wednesday evening.

One thing prevalent in Estonia games is a wealth of goals and on that basis we envisage plenty of these in this midweek clash. Two of Wales’ last three matches have contained over 2.5 goals and while Estonia were thumped 5-2 by Belgium in their last qualifier, they managed a 2-1 win over neighbours Latvia in their previous outing and for that reason, we’re confident that there will be a few goals in this match.

Gareth Bale grabbed himself a hat-trick in Belarus at the weekend and there’s every reason to believe that he will once again be amongst the goals on Wednesday evening. Indeed the Real Madrid player is odds-against at 15/8 to bang in the opener here and this certainly represents great value given that ht broke the deadlock in Minsk last time out. Not only that but there’s also great value to be had in backing Wales to score over 2.5 goals here given that they put three past Belarus at the weekend and Estonia leaked five against group leaders Belgium.

Back Gareth Bale to be First Goalscorer at best odds of 15/8

Back over 3.5 Total Goals at best odds of 15/8
