The undoubted highlight of the weekend Premier League offering is the Merseyside derby and as such, now is an ideal time to check out our Fixtures & Results page and keep to date with the latest Liverpool results and scores ahead of their meeting with arch-rivals Everton on Saturday evening.
Liverpool v Everton Match Preview
Kick-off: 5.50pm, Saturday 20th February 2021, Anfield.
- Liverpool have suffered defeat in their last three home games in the Premier League
- Everton have avoided defeat in each of their last seven away from Goodison Park
Downturn in form
Liverpool’s defence of the 2019/20 Premier League title now lies in tatters following a dramatic downturn in form. Jurgen Klopp’s men have lost their last three home games in the league and on the back of this they have dropped down to seventh position in the table. Indeed the Reds sit just three points and a single position above their weekend opponents Everton, the latter enjoying a game-in-hand over their arch-rivals.
Great side in the making
Everton have lost just once in their last four meetings with Liverpool and they certainly have the makings of a great side under the stewardship of manager Carlo Ancelotti. They will certainly be confident of their chances this weekend against a Liverpool outfit which appear to have lost their way on the domestic front.
The Reds have failed to win any of their last five on home soil and with defeats in their last three, the omens aren’t looking too good ahead of this weekend’s outing. Everton’s last seven away games have returned five wins and two draws and while Liverpool are firm favourites to win this clash, their poor recent home form means that we’ll be siding with their opponents to manage something for their efforts this weekend.
