Premier League 2020/21 Top Goalscorer Odds

Update: 15.04.21

Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of clinching a Champions League berth may be dead in the water but star player Harry Kane is still topping the charts in terms of number of goals scored this season. The Spurs hitman has been consistent throughout the season thus far and he has found the back of the net 19 times having made 13 assists in his 29 league appearances.

On the back of this, the bookmakers are generally going a little over Evens on Kane becoming top scorer in the Premier League this season at odds of 11/10 although William Hill Bookmakers are going odds-on that he finishes the campaign at the summit of the scoring charts.

Kane isn’t alone at the top however with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah having also scored nineteen Premier League goals this term although his assists total is far behind with just three made since the start of the campaign. Salah isn’t too far behind Kane on the market however with most firms going 6/5 that he tops the table at the end of 2020/21.

This looks set to be very much a two-horse race to be named as top Premier League Scorer 2020/21 with Bruno Fernandes third on the market at odds of 12/1 having scored sixteen goals for Manchester United since the start of the season. Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-Min is next in the scoring charts with fourteen to his name and he is as much as 66/1 on the betting market, well behind Patrick Bamford (14 goals) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (14 goals) at 40/1 apiece.

Top of the charts

It’s hard to say whether or not Tottenham Hotspur were deserved winners at Villa Park on Sunday evening, however the big story in the West Midlands wasn’t Tottenham ending a disappointing week on a high but Harry Kane adding to his goal-tally from the spot. Kane was fouled by Matty Cash and the England player coolly sent Emiliano Martinez the wrong way to hit the back of the net and thus move level with Mo Salah in the goal-scoring charts for the season, both players having scored 17 goals.

Direct role in 30 goals

Kane is now one of just three players – the others being Barcelona hitman Lionel Messi and Bayern supremo Robert Lewandowski – to have played a direct role in 30 goals or more in the top five leagues in Europe this term. More importantly perhaps is the fact the 27-year-old has moved to within 100 goals of Alan Shearer in the Premier League.

Injury concerns

Kane has banged in no less than 160 goals in the top-flight throughout his career and this is certainly no mean feat given that he has struggled with ankle injury. Whether Kane can move ahead of Shearer and take top spot in the all-time top Premier League scorer charts before he hangs up his boots remains to be seen but the bookies are confident that in the meantime he can finish 2021/22 as the leading scorer in the top-flight.

More goals

Most bookmakers go just 6/4 that Kane bangs in more goals than any other Premier League player this season, leaving him slightly ahead of Mohamed Sarah at 7/4. Bruno Fernandes comes in next at 6/1 while Dominic Calvert-Lewin sits fourth in the market at 20/1.
