Update: 19.02.21

This season’s FA Cup is fast approaching its conclusion with just eight sides left in the competition. Indeed all-but-one of the quarter-finalists are Premier League sides – the exception being Championship outfit AFC Bournemouth – and we can expect some thrilling games when they lock horns next March.

Premier League leaders Manchester City are firm favourites to win the FA Cup this season with most bookies going 11/8 that the trophy ends up at the Etihad Stadium. The Citizens have been firing on all cylinders this season although they will be in for a tough battle when they face Everton at Goodison Park in their quarter-final outing.

Chelsea are deemed to be Man City’s main threat in the battle for the 2020/21 FA Cup, Thomas Tuchel certainly eager to get his hands on some silverware in his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are a general 7/2 punt to lift the trophy this season although you can back them at odds of 9/2 with a couple of firms.

Manchester United managed to find their groove last night when thumping Real Sociedad 4-0 in the Europa League, however things appear to have slowed down for the Red Devils on the domestic front with just a single win from their last five Premier League outings. Indeed United’s main chances of silverware lie in the Europa League and the FA Cup, most bookies going 9/2 that they win the latter.

Completing the top-four in the betting are Leicester City, Brendan Rodgers’ men impressing in the Premier League this season and edging past Brighton & Hove Albion in the last round of this competition, most bookies going 10/1 that they lift the FA Cup trophy this term.

Update: 12.02.21 – FA Cup Quarter-final Draw

The draw for the quarter-finals of this season’s FA Cup has been made and Everton’s reward for making it past Tottenham Hotspur in their gruelling fifth-round outing is a visit from Premier League title favourites Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s men made it into the last eight courtesy of a 3-1 win over Championship side Swansea City in the last round of the competition and the Citizens are favourites to lift the trophy.

Indeed City, who have won fifteen on the trot across all competitions, are also up against the Toffees in the Premier League next week.

Manchester United have been paired with Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals, this tie taking place at the King Power Stadium. These two sides battled out a 2-2 draw when they last locked horns on Boxing Day and we’re expecting a closely-fought affair when they clash in the East Midlands.

Southampton’s reward for overcoming Wolverhampton Wanderers last night is a trip to Championship side AFC Bournemouth while Chelsea’s win over Barnsley has rewarded them with a home tie with Sheffield United.

These games are scheduled to take place on March 20th and 21st.

  • Everton v Manchester City
  • Leicester City v Manchester United
  • AFC Bournemouth v Southampton
  • Chelsea v Sheffield United

FA Cup Odds & Quarter-Final Draw

Wolverhampton Wanderers entertain Southampton in the fifth round of the FA Cup tonight and immediately following the final whistle we will have live coverage of the quarter-final draw, hosted by Karen Carney and Reshmin Choudhury on BT Sport. The draw is scheduled to take place at 7:45pm and can also be watched on Twitter, Facebook and the Emirates FA Cup Youtube channel.

When the draw is made, just nine teams will be left in the tournament and this will be whittled down to eight soon after, the final quarter-final place being determined by the outcome of Barnsley v Chelsea which takes place later this evening.

Favourites to win the competition are Premier League leaders Manchester City, the bookies offering best odds of 11/8 that Pep Guardiola’s men go on to lift the trophy. City are on a fifteen-match winning right now and look to have peaked at exactly the right time, a comfortable win over Championship side Swansea City last night sending them through to the next round of the competition.

Manchester United are second favourites to lift the FA Cup this season at a best price of 4/1, while the big outsiders are Barnsley at 225/1, the Tykes needing to overcome Premier League side Chelsea at Oakwell in their fifth-round clash tonight.
